How Much Does It Cost?
The amnesty program waives most fees and penalties for unpermitted construction, and most normal planning and building fees. The base fees for the program are:

Initial health and safety inspection fee and determination of required improvements.

Application/plan submittal and plan check fee (charged once for submittal, and again if major modification to the application and plans require full resubmittal; minor modifications are not charged).

Inspections of completed work. $144 will be charged for each major inspection.
Typical fees for unpermitted construction are in the thousands of dollars, and typical Planning and Building Fees range from thousands of dollars to far higher amounts. The amnesty program offers a substantial savings over typical code enforcement action, normal unit legalization, or construction of a new permitted unit.
