The Zoning Hearing Officer conducts public hearings on minor land use and development permits that the County Planning Commission would otherwise hear. This is done to save the applicant and County staff time, expense and effort. The Zoning Hearing Officer is an employee of the County Planning and Building Department and reports to and acts on behalf of the County Planning Director. The Zoning Hearing Officer is often referred to as the ZHO and is assisted by the Zoning Hearing Secretary.

Zoning hearings are generally held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 10:00 AM in Room 101 in the County Office Building located at 455 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063. Times and location sometimes change and is indicated on the agenda.

Note: This hearing body allows for both in-person and remote participation. Please follow the instructions and Zoom link at the top of the agenda to participate remotely.
